Peugeot 508 GT Sportwagon 2020 pricing and spec confirmed: French large wagon here before year’s end

Peugeot’s 508 GT Sportwagon will land in Australian showrooms wearing a $55,990 before on-road costs pricetag, just $2000 more expensive than its sedan sibling.

Specification will also mirror its four-door liftback sibling, except for the inclusion of a cargo net and roof rails.

Standard equipment includes adaptive dampers, LED headlights, a powered tailgate and 18-inch wheels, while inside occupants are treated to a 10.0-inch multimedia system, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, massaging front seats and a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument display.

The 508 GT Sportwagon is also fitted with autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assist.

Measuring 4790mm long, 1860mm wide and 1420mm tall, the wagon is 20mm lengthier and 10mm taller than the sedan, but boot space grows from 487 litres to 530L with the rear seats in place.

With the second-row stowed, the 508 GT wagon can swallow a 1780L load.

Power comes courtesy of the same turbocharged 1.6-litre PureTech four-cylinder petrol engine as its sedan counterpart, which produces 167kW of power and 300Nm of torque.

Drive is fed through the front wheels via an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, which results in a fuel economy figure of 6.3 litres per 100km in both sedan and wagon guise.

The 508 GT Fastback is scheduled to hit Australian showrooms in the third quarter of the year, while the Sportwagon is due before year’s end.
