VW Tiguan 110TSI 2020 pricing and spec confirmed: Entry-level mid-size SUV returns

Volkswagen’s price-leading Tiguan 110TSI has returned to the local line-up after an 18-month hiatus due to “production constraints”, kicking off at $34,150 before on-road costs for the Trendline grade.

As before, all versions of the 110TSI are powered by a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine, outputting 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque, that drives the front axle via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Standard equipment in the base 110TSI Trendline includes 17-inch allow wheels, 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and black roof rails.

For safety, the new base Tiguan sports city autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, reversing camera, automatic headlights and wipers, and driver fatigue monitor.

However, for an additional $1700, buyers can opt for the ‘Drive Assistance Package’ that bundles rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, emergency assist, traffic jam assist and electric folding mirrors.

The 110TSI powertrain can also be had in higher-spec Comfortline trim with either the five-seat Tiguan or seven-seat Tiguan Allspace body styles for $38,650 and $40,150 respectively.

Regardless of seating arrangement, both 110TSI Comfortline models build on the Trendline’s specification, but adds dynamic LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, satellite navigation, keyless entry, push-button start, three-zone climate control, overhead storage and chrome detailing.

The ‘Driver Assistance Package’ can also be optioned to Comfortline variants for $1600 due to electric folding mirrors already included as standard.

Additionally, a ‘Sound and Vision Package’ that adds ambient interior lighting, premium sound system and active info display; and ‘Luxury Package’ that bundles leather upholstery, electronically adjustable driver’s seat, heated front pews and a glass sunroof can also be added to Comfortline versions for $3200 and $4000 respectively.
