Thousands of new Ram 1500 dual-cab utes recalled over potential visibility issue

Ram Australia has recalled 2540 examples of the 1500 dual-cab pick-up over a manufacturing defect that could cause a visibility problem.

Affecting MY19-MY20 1500s sold from January 1, 2019, to May 15, 2020, the recall involves the windshield wiper arm head joint, which can strip.

If this occurs, the windshield wiper arm will not function properly, which could lead to reduced visibility.

In such a scenario, the risk of an accident and therefore injury to vehicle occupants and other road users is increased.

Impacted owners will be contacted by Ram Australia via mail with instructions to book their vehicle in at a preferred dealership to have the necessary repair performed free of charge.

Those looking for further information can call Ram Australia on 1300 681 792 or reach out to their preferred dealership.

A full list of affected Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) can be found at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s ACCC Product Safety Australia website.
