Subaru Impreza and XV 2019 recalled: New small cars and SUVs have potential seatbelt issue

Subaru Australia has been forced to recall 721 examples of the Impreza small car and XV small SUV over a potential issue with their seatbelts.

Affecting MY19 vehicles, one of the two locking mechanisms in their rear seatbelts might not lock as intended during an accident, due to a manufacturing defect.

If this does occur, wearers may not be properly restrained, therefore increasing the risk of injury and/or death to vehicle occupants.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Subaru Australia and asked to arrange an appointment at their preferred Subaru dealership for a free inspection and repair of their Impreza or XV.

Those wanting further information can call the Subaru Customer Relations Team on 1300 550 994 during business hours (AEST). Alternatively, they can directly contact their preferred Subaru dealership.
