SsangYong Rexton 2020 detailed: New look for large SUV line-up

SsangYong’s facelifted Rexton large SUV is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms in early 2020 with a tweaked looked and very minor changes in specification.

Shown in overseas form, the new Rexton wears a new honeycomb grille that now tucks in below the headlights.

Fresh alloy wheel designs are also added, at least to international market Rextons, while the badging in the rear has also bee reshuffled with the model-specific moniker moving lower down on the tailgate.

Inside, the only specification change is that the middle-row occupants gain sunblinds. Overseas market versions also gain new interior colour choices including a grey/white dual-tone option.

Powertrain options carryover from the existing model though, meaning either a 165kW/350Nm petrol or 133kW/420Nm diesel engine.

Pricing is also expected to remain static, with the front-drive petrol EX kicking off at $39,990 driveaway, while the ELX and Ultimate diesel variants priced at $46,990 and $52,990 respectively.

CarsGuide understands that the mechanically related Musso ute will miss out on the styling updates to further differentiate it from the seven-seat SUV.
