Skoda Karoq 2020 pricing and specs confirmed: More expensive SUV gets extra tech

Skoda Australia has given the Karoq small SUV a minor MY20 update, increasing pricing of its single-variant range by $700 in exchange for the standard fitment of a digital instrument cluster.

Now priced from $32,990 plus on-road costs, the Karoq remains exclusively available in entry-level front-wheel-drive 110TSI form, which is motivated by a 110kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine.

While the 110TSI launched in June last year with a priced-leading six-speed manual transmission as standard ($29,990), its production run ended two months later, leaving a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic unit as the only option.

As reported, Skoda intends to reintroduce a second option to the Australian Karoq line-up, although this time it will be a 140kW/320Nm 140TSI petrol or 140kW/400Nm 140TDI diesel variant with all-wheel drive. Either way, it will have a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder engine.

Standard equipment in the 110TSI otherwise includes 17-inch Triton alloy wheels, dusk-sensing headlights, LED daytime running lights, rain-sensing wipers, silver roof rails and rear privacy glass.

Inside, an 8.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control and fabric upholstery feature.

Advanced driver-assist systems extend to front and rear autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors.

The Karoq can now be had with Race Blue paintwork as part of its MY20 update, bringing the total number of colour options to 10.

Three options packages are available, including Premium ($3700), Travel ($3800) and Tech ($4200), although two or three of them together reduces their combined pricing.

Individual options include 19-inch Crater alloy wheels ($900), a panoramic sunroof ($1900) and side steps ($1200).
