Skoda extends service packs to used vehicles

In an unusual move, Skoda Australia has extended its popular capped-price service pack options to vehicles that are more than 12 months old.

The brand says its service pack option is picked up by 60 per cent of new Australian Skoda customers, and has extended a new four-year pack option to used cars as part of its mission to “make European motoring more affordable to more people”.

Eligible vehicles include anything from the brand’s current lineup, and even extends to the now-discontinued Yeti.

While buyers of new vehicles are able to pick from either a three- or five-year pack, used owners can choose only a four-year plan. Packs are applicable to be used any time after the first 15,000km service, and extend to the fourth service or 60,000km, whichever occurs first.

Prices for the four-year plan vary from $1200 to $1600 depending on model. See the table below for a full breakdown.

Skoda is set to add the new Superb Scout to its range before the end of May, an update to the Skoda Karoq which will include a new 140TSI Sportline variant, as well as two all-new nameplates later in the year, the Scala hatchback (which will replace the Rapid) and Kamiq small SUV. The next-generation Skoda Octavia is also planned to arrive in early 2021.

The brand says 2020 will be its “biggest new product year since entering the Australian market in 2007”.
