RECALL: Hundreds of Mercedes-Benz vehicles at risk of catching fire

Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall of 235 of its vehicles for a potentially faulty oil line.

The materials used do not meet the correct specifications, which could leak oil while the vehicle is in operation.

As a result, it is possible that the oil could come into contact with hot components and ignite, starting a fire.

The call back affects examples of the E- G- and S-Class lines, as well as the AMG GT, that were sold from August 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019.

The vehicle identification numbers (VIN) of all affected vehicles are listed on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) website, and owners are asked to get in contact with their nearest Mercedes-Benz dealership for a remedy.
