New Tesla Model 3 pricing and specs 2020 detailed: Recently launched electric car now dearer
Tesla Australia’s popular Model 3 has had its pricing increased within months of its launch in August.
The sedan arrived as one of the most affordable all-electric vehicles on the market, but it now starts from $67,900 plus on-road costs for the Standard Range Plus variant – $1900 higher than before.
One step up remains the Long Range version, which incurs the smallest of the Model 3 price rises, up $900 to $85,900.
Conversely, the flagship Performance variant has been stung with the largest increase in cost, jumping by $2700 to $93,900.
CarsGuide has contacted Tesla Australia to see if there is a corresponding uptick in standard specification for the Model 3.
As reported, the single-motor Standard Range Plus completes the 0-100km/h sprint in 5.6s and has a driving range of 460km (NEDC).
Comparatively, the dual-motor Long Range and Performance reach triple digits in 4.6s and 3.4s, and travel 620km and 560km between charges respectively.
