New Lexus LC 2020 pricing and specs detailed: Updated BMW 8 Series coupe rival arrives

Lexus Australia has released pricing and full specification for the updated LC coupe, which is now in showrooms.

Two variants continue to be on offer, with the LC500 now $4955 dearer, at $194,747 plus on-road costs, while the LC500h has jumped $4815, to $195,165.

Buyers are compensated for the extra spend with the inclusion of Active Cornering Assist (ACA), a heated steering wheel and ‘easy access’ functionality.

Standard specification otherwise includes LED headlights, two-tone 21-inch alloy wheels, a 10.3-inch multimedia system, satellite navigation with live traffic, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a 918W Mark Levinson sound system with 13 speakers, an 8.0-inch multifunction display, a head-up display, keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control, 12-way power-adjustable front seats with heating and cooling, a power-adjustable steering column, sports pedals and stainless-steel scuff plates.

Advanced driver-assist systems extend to autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep and steering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, high-beam assist, a reversing camera and front and rear parking sensors.

An Enhancement Package is available for $15,000, with it bundling in all-wheel steering with a variable ratio, a carbon-fibre roof panel, an active bootlid spoiler, 10-way power-adjustable front sports seats, Alcantara and leather-accented upholstery, and carbon-fibre scuff plates.

Two new full-time paintwork options are available (Carnelian and Khaki Metal) alongside two new upholstery options, with Flare Red combining black with red, and Manhattan Henge mixing black with ‘sunset’.

The LC500 is powered by a 351kW 5.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol V8 engine, while the LC500h is motivated by 264kW 3.5-litre petrol-electric V6 hybrid powertrain.

As part of the update, both get revised automatic transmissions, with the former’s 10-speed torque-converter unit getting improved shift patterns, while the latter’s four-speed torque-converter and CVT (continuously variable) combination provides improved acceleration out of corners.

The adaptive suspension has also been reworked “to reduce weight, enhance ride comfort and sharpen handling”, according to Lexus.

As reported, the updated LC coupe will be joined by its new convertible sibling late this year.
