New Ford Ranger Tradesman 2020 pricing and specs detailed: Mitsubishi Triton rival set for hard work

The Ford Ranger line-up seems to be constantly expanding to fill new gaps, and the latest addition to the range is actually one that serious dual-cab ute buyers will appreciate.

The new Ford Ranger Tradesman 2020 model takes the regular Ranger XL 4×4 Double Cab Pick-up model with the 3.2-litre turbo-diesel five-cylinder engine and adds a number of worksite-focused items at minimal extra cost.

Ford claims there is $5500 of extra value for Tradesman models, with just $1000 added to the asking price. The kit includes 16-inch black alloy wheels in lieu of steelies, a black nudge bar with LED light bar, side steps, a tow bar with wiring, and a plastic tub liner.

The Ranger XL model that the Tradesman is based on continues on with the same interior cloth trim and rubber floors, while the 147kW/470Nm engine is available only with the six-speed automatic transmission for this grade.

The list price for the XL with Tradesman pack is $51,790 plus on-road costs – but buyers are set to benefit, with a strong driveaway deal currently in place for the ‘Special Edition’ Ranger Tradesman, which is advertised at $47,990 drive-away.

The Tradesman pack is not to be confused with the Tradie Pack, also offered on the Ranger XL Double Cab, but only in cab-chassis body style. That pack has a full bullbar, LED light bar and snorkel.
