New Ford Ranger FX4 2020 pricing and specs detailed: Limited-edition dual-cab ute fades to black
Ford Australia has confirmed pricing for its special-edition Ranger FX4, with the blacked-out 4×4 dual-cab pick-up “initially” limited to 1000 units and available in three variants.
Attracting a $2500 premium over the full-time XLT grade it is based upon, the FX4 can be had with a 147kW/470Nm 3.2-litre turbo-diesel five-cylinder engine, either with a six-speed manual ($59,140 plus on-road costs) or a six-speed torque-converter automatic ($61,340).
Alternatively, buyers can opt for a 157kW/500Nm 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine, which is exclusively mated to a 10-speed torque-converter automatic ($62,840).
As reported, the FX4 is fitted with a fresh set of 18-inch alloy wheels, a unique mesh grille insert and an extended sports bar, all of which are finished in black. It also adds a black decal package with red ‘FX4’ branding.
Inside, black leather seat upholstery, red stitching and Tinted Graphite trim help the FX4 standout in the Ranger crowd.
Standard equipment otherwise includes dusk-sensing bi-LED headlights, keyless entry and start, an 8.0-inch touchscreen Sync3 multimedia system, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, dual-zone climate control, autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and lane-keep assist, among other features.
Adaptive cruise control and park assist can also be had as part of an $800 options package.
The FX4 is available with five paintwork options. Artic White and True Red are no-cost colours, while Shadow Black, Meteor Grey and Aluminium command a $650 premium.
Like all Ranger grades, the FX4 comes with Ford Australia’s five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
