New BMW M340i Pure 2020 pricing and spec detailed: Baby M3 dips below $95,000

BMW Australia has introduced another 3 Series sedan variant for the 2020 model year, slotting the new M340i Pure between the plug-in 330e and performance-focused M340i.

Priced at $94,900 before on-road costs, the Pure is $10,000 cheaper than the $104,900 M340i, but still retains its potent 285kW/500Nm 3.0-litre turbo-petrol inline six-cylinder engine.

The second-to-the-top 3 Series – at least until BMW reveals the new-gen M3 later this year – also sends drive to the road via an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-biased xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

As a result, the M340i Pure can complete the zero-to-100km/h sprint in 4.4 seconds.

Standard equipment in the Pure includes 19-inch wheels, keyless entry, adaptive LED headlights, wireless smartphone charger, head-up display and sports seats.

As an M-fettled model, the M340i Pure also features M Sport brakes and differential.

However, the Pure loses out on Laserlight headlights, glass roof, leather trim, premium sound system, heated front seats, ambient lighting and automatic tailgate that are found in the more expensive M340i.
