Kia Sorento 2020 Black Edition pricing and specs detailed

The black pack treatment has been dished out to yet another model, with the Kia Sorento 2020 Black Edition joining the ranks.

The new Sorento Black Edition model builds upon the equipment offered in the Sport version it sits above, with additional style-oriented changes made to add a little bit of understated flair. We’d suggest that maybe Kia is overstating it by saying “it redefines what an SUV can look like”, though.

The Black Edition variant sees the addition of 19-inch alloy wheels and a gloss black grille and roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, black side mirrors, black skid plates front and rear, LED “ice-cube” fog lights at the front, and dark chrome door garnishes.

That’s over and above the standard gear fitted to the Sport variant, such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen media system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, sat nav, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, leather appointed seats with driver’s electric seat adjustment, and LED daytime running lights with projector halogen main lights.

The safety suite is decent too, with auto emergency braking, lane keeping assist, driver attention alert, a reversing camera, and front and rear parking sensors. All Sorento models have seven seats.

The Sorento Black Edition seven seater SUV is available with the choice of the brand’s 3.5-litre petrol V6 in front-wheel drive at a price of $48,990 drive-away, or with the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel in all-wheel drive at a price of $52,490 drive-away. Both versions have an eight-speed automatic.

The Black Edition Sorento 2020 model range is set to help see the current-generation out, with the company confirming recently that an all-new model will be seen soon.

The 2020 Black Edition Sorento model isn’t a “limited edition” like some, with the brand claiming there is no limit to how many will be sold. It’s bound to compete with the Toyota Kluger Black Edition
