Kia Cerato 2020 pricing and spec confirmed: Manual Sport variant introduced

Kia has introduced a three-pedal version of its Cerato Sport in a range-wide model year 2020 update, priced at $22,990 before on-road costs.

Positioned $2800 below the $25,790 automatic Sport, the six-speed manual version retains the same level of equipment as its two-pedal sibling introduced earlier this year, save for adaptive cruise control.

As such, the identically priced five-door hatchback and four-door sedan Cerato Sport manual is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic headlights, satellite navigation, digital radio, 3.5-inch driver display, and cloth interior.

Safety systems include autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, six airbags and a driver attention alert system.

Powering the manual Cerato Sport is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 112kW of power and 192Nm of torque – the same powerplant as the six-speed torque convertor automatic.

As for the rest of the Cerato hatch and sedan line-up, pricing, specification and appearance carryover from the 2019 model year versions unchanged.

Kicking off at $20,990 for the manual S grade, an automatic transmission can also be optioned for another $2800.

The aforementioned manual Sport then comes in at $22,990, while the automatic-only Si is priced at $24,29.

The next rung on the Cerato ladder is the auto-only Sport+ for $28,840, while the range-topping $32,990 GT swaps in a seven-speed dual-clutch auto and 150kW/265Nm 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Standard equipment on the S variant mirrors its Sport sibling, save for smaller 16-inch wheels and the lack omission of satellite navigation, while the Si version adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Sport+ builds on gear with push-button start, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats.

As for the flagship GT, Kia adds 18-inch wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, larger front brakes, sports bodykit, 4.2-inch driver display, wireless smartphone charger, cooled front seats and flat-bottom steering wheel.
