Jaguar Land Rover moves to five-year warranty – but there’s a catch

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is the latest automotive brand to move to a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty in Australia, although there is one key difference with its version.

Unlike Mercedes-Benz’s recently introduced five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty, JLR’s version isn’t permanent and doesn’t apply to all models, including the XJ and Range Rover. Instead, it’s available from April 1 to June 30 as part of its end of financial year (EOFY) sales campaign.

Unless this offer is extended, JLR will move back to its usual three-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty on July 1, which while level pegging with that of BMW and Audi, among other premium rivals, is short of the standard set by Mercedes-Benz and Genesis.

During its EOFY sales campaign, JLR is also giving a loyalty bonus to buyers who trade in their current JLR vehicle for a new or demonstrator one.

For Jaguar, this offer extends to the XE (up to $1000), XF (up to $2000), XJ (up to $4000), E-Pace (up to $1500), I-Pace (up to $1250), F-Pace (up to $2000) and F-Type (up to $2500).

Meanwhile, eligible Land Rover models include the Discovery Sport (up to $2000), Discovery (up to $2500), Range Rover Evoque (up to $2000), Range Rover Velar (up to $2500), Range Rover Sport (up to $2500) and Range Rover (up to $5000).
