Aussie company MSA 4X4 takes home top global award

Gold Coast-based company, MSA 4X4 Accessories, has been awarded a Global Media Award for its new towing mirrors.

MSA 4X4 director Shane Miles accepted the award during the 2019 SEMA Show, an automotive specialty products trade event.

More than 2400 companies showcased more than 3000 of the industry’s newest products at this year’s show, which was held in Las Vegas from November 5 to 8.

SEMA Global Media Awards are presented to companies which manufacture specialty products and accessories that – according to the Global Media Award judging panel – would have mass appeal to consumers around the world. The panel includes international journalists from 19 countries.

MSA 4X4’s new towing mirrors are designed “to offer enhanced vision when towing, whilst being unobtrusive for everyday driving”, according to a company statement.

These mirrors have a large single mirror that pivots on a heavy-duty extension slide, allowing the mirror to be returned to its normal, “non-towing” position when the vehicle is not being used for towing.

“We’re extremely proud that our new Towing Mirrors have been recognised by the international media,” Mr Miles said, after receiving the award.

“It’s taken years to develop a mirror that, when not towing, was not disproportionate to the styling of the vehicle, and matched the size of the vehicle.”
